Polishing Felts - Applications
Our polishing wheels (bobs) are manufactured from 100% virgin white or grey wools.

Specifically manufactured to three general densities - soft, medium and hard. They are primarily used in the metal finishing, ceramic, cast plastic, jewellery, glass and stone finishing industries.
Although quite abrasive in structure, felt in itself will not polish a substrate.

The felt wheel is used as a carrier to apply either abrasive compound or grit or final finishing wax to the material being polished.

The wheel allows the operator to achieve a smooth polished surface free of blemishes and pits.

Felt wheels are commonly shaped by the operator to the profile of the surface to be treated. This gives felt a wider flexibility in use than many other types of polishing and grinding wheels.

For very soft metals like silver plate and pewter we recommend the use of extra soft wheels, which can prevent the loss of metallic stock when polishing.
British Felt operate their polishing felt sales through a number of specialist distributors in the UK.
