D/S Tissue Tapes

A transfer tape is a pure adhesive matrix protected by an outer layer which could be made from either paper or plastic film. There is no interlining support membrane such as in Tissue or Polyester tapes.

These tapes are particularly beneficial in laminations to textiles, and fibrous products such as felt. During lamination the adhesive film is warmed to enable it to flow onto the felt.

This flow allows the adhesive to penetrate into the top surface of the felt and facilitate much higher contact bond strength with the felt than a supported adhesive could. Supported adhesive tapes tend to only bond to the very top surface fibres of the felt and are therefore more prone to failure and delamination during processing or use.
New Display Item
Unlike supported tapes, transfer tapes are not recommended for lamination to products that may stretch or deform during processing as the tape can offer little to no support which is needed to maintain dimensional stability.

British Felt are authorised dealers and distributors for Steratape Adhesive Tapes (www.steratape.com) ATP Adhesives (www.atp-alltape.de)

The majority of adhesive tapes we offer are based on aqueous acrylic systems which can in many instances equal or improve upon solvent based tapes whilst also being more environmentally friendly in their manufacture.
